So I've recently started painting again after I started working on a commission. Figured it'd be fun to get back in with a cool Khorne army. Obviously I had to get the Thirster. the miniature (more like maxiature!) is huge and really damn pretty.
Got to work with constructing first. Had to change it a little, so I tore up the 2 axes to make him a dual wielder. 2 is always better then 1.

Next up was the base coat on all the reds. I went with Mephiston base followed by a light Aggrax eathshade wash. added a couple of really light dry brushes of mephiston mixed in with tads trollslayer orange to light him up a little bit before the shading and highlighting starts, just to make sure he has some extra depth later on.

Next up a figured I'd test how I wanted to red to end up on his face. as you can see Ive gone from the previous mentioned base colours up to Trollslayer orange. I also added a leviathan purple was in the reccesses to make the red abit more lively (its skin afterall). More on that the next time I have day light.

Ended the day with the wings. went for a couple of light dry brushes as the base. Plan on giving it a glaze and highlights after all the red is done, but Im happy about the main tone. Abbadon black brushed up to Shadowgrey with a tad of white added down the raise parts. I'll make the tendons and chaos symbols pop out more later with highlights.

Day one done. Gab out
